Privacy policy

This site is run by Bitlabs Technologies LTD. It exists to turn text you supply into QR codes, and it is built so that doing so requires as little of your data as possible.
What you type never leaves your machine
Every QR code on this site is generated in your browser. The links, plain text, network names and passwords, contact details, message bodies, locations, calendar entries and spreadsheet files you enter are turned into codes by code running on your own computer. None of that content is transmitted to us, stored by us, logged by us or shared with anyone else. We could not produce it if we were asked for it.
This includes bulk generation. A CSV or Excel file you choose is read locally and the resulting archive is assembled locally. The file is never uploaded.
Your generation history
Codes you generate are saved to your browser's own IndexedDB storage so that the history page still shows them after you close the tab. That storage belongs to your browser profile. It is not synchronised to us and it is not visible to us.
The history page has a control that erases all of it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it too. Either way it is gone permanently, because there is no copy anywhere else.
Hosting
The site's pages and files are served by Cloudflare. As with any website, delivering a page means Cloudflare's servers handle your network address and the address of the page you asked for, and Cloudflare uses them to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not keep access logs of our own. None of this includes what you type into a generator, which is never sent anywhere.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It records the address of the page you are on, the site that referred you, your approximate country, your browser and device type, and how quickly the page loaded. It sets no cookies and does not identify or follow individual visitors.
It does not receive the contents of any QR code, because those contents never leave your browser in the first place, and no page on this site puts anything you type into its address. Analytics tells us that a page was opened and a code was saved, not what was typed into it.
Advertising
This site carries advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google's ad code loads on the generator, guide and information pages. While Google reviews the site, the code is present but no ads are shown.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Google explains how it uses that information in its advertising technologies policy.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of the use of cookies for personalised advertising by other third-party vendors at www.aboutads.info.
The ad code is never loaded on your history page, which lists the codes you have made. We never pass anything you type into a generator to Google or to its ad code.
Visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and Switzerland are shown Google's consent message before advertising or analytics cookies are used. They can change that choice at any time with the "Privacy and cookie settings" link at the foot of every page, which appears only where the message applies.
Supporter payments
If you choose to support the site with a payment, you do it on a payment page hosted by Paystack, not on this site. Your card or mobile money details go to Paystack and never reach us. Paystack shares with us what any shop receives from its payment provider: your name, email address, the amount, the date, and whether the payment is one-off or monthly.
We use those details to keep financial records and, for monthly payments, to cancel them when you ask. We do not add you to a mailing list, and a payment is never linked to anything you generate here, because that never leaves your browser. Paystack acts as our payment provider, and questions about a payment can go to the address below.
What we never do
There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password to lose. We do not sell data, we do not build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not use dynamic redirect codes, so we cannot see when or where a code you made is scanned.

Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than applied silently.
